Introducing the Light Koffee KDE integration

my LightKoffee KDE theme

In another post we saw how bad KDE apps can look if compared to gnome apps, specially when we try to integrate KDE apps into a perfectly working gnome environment.

KDE alone is not bad when it comes to handling windows, buttons and all the remaining eyecandy, on the opposite side, it is even powerfuller and much more customizable than Gnome and that’s for sure but.. it just works weird sometimes, so, I prefer the stability and overall sense of nice looking eye candy that gnome gives me.

So, if the goal is integrating KDE apps into Gnome while we are running my prefered gnome theme, Light Coffe, what can we do? Nothing without some patience. And that’s what I did for you, I created a KDE modification so that you can easily integrate KDE applications with the wonderful Light Coffee Theme. Of course, you can use my KDE integration even alone, without gnome, in a pure KDE environment: at this point my work can be considered a port of the Light Coffee theme to KDE.

That’s why I called this little customization work Light Koffee, with a starting “K”, something that just happens to appear often in KDE applications. You can find my Light Koffee KDE theme and instructions on how to use it in KDE-Look, here.

Hope you enjoy it together with the original Light Coffee theme.
